Atmaguru Forest Hermitage

The Atmaguru Forest Hermitage is a private sanctuary in the Virginia woods. It is a space dedicated to the integration of solitary practice, Sadhana, silence, and the direct realization of the true Self (Atmaguru).

While the steward, Atmaram, is open to planned visits and appointments, the hermitage is maintained as a place of solitude for personal practice. It is a place for the “practice of thorns” – the honest integration of the human experience into the stillness of the forest. The work here is a commitment to the Holy Farce: the recognition that the seeker and the sought are not separate.

While these digital notes are shared as a witness to the path, the physical grounds are sanctuary for the steward and the guardian, Shvana. We observe a conduct of non-harm (Ahimsa) and deep listening though silence (Mauna).
